I’ve bought a new domain, based on an idea I have for a future musical project that I’d like to call ‘A Duck Selling Quack‘. So, from this point on, that is my blog address, but with no spaces and with ‘.com’ on the end. You can also use ‘fraserj.co.uk’ if you prefer, but it’ll only bring you here…

Anyway, my music won’t sound like ducks. I just like the name. It’s kinda appropriate of a blog too… Maybe I’ll improve the design at some point soon too!

Keeping with the sharing music thing, I’ve added Jim Fear profiles to Last.fm and iLike, so you can listen to our dulcet tones in Facebook or umm… Last.fm if you like. You may notice we share our Last.fm page with a similarly defunct hardcore band from Denmark. They got the page first, we got the name first! Our music is on there too, tho they seem to be more popular in terms of Last.fm users listening to their music… It’s not a competition.

I had to make a jigsaw puzzle featuring a picture of a phoenix as part of a project we’re working on at the mo. As we couldn’t get a copyright free one, I thought I’d paint one in Photoshop instead. I like painting stuff in Photoshop.

Why, when my internet speed has doubled, has YouTube suddenly got slower? Like annoying slow, not just inconvenient slow. Whats the problem here? If I were in traffic, I’d be honking like a tosser. Only I wouldn’t, cos I’m not like that.

Also, why are there fuck all jobs on the UK Craigslist? Does no-one need anything done? Where is the problem here? The problem is, I’d like some work. Now, please.

I’ve been meaning to update the Jim Fear site for months now, but as I don’t seem to be finding the time to do it, I put all our recorded tunes on Virb, cos Virb is cool, and I thought people might wanna hear it.

If anyone has any recordings of t’ Fear, photos, flyers, whatever, lemme know cos I’d be interested to see them (and maybe get copies).

I had no idea this phenomenon even existed, let alone it being staged down the road (3 and a half years ago).

Last one!

My First Lip Sync. We were given a dope sheet with a phrase mapped out for us to draw our keys with our own character design. We didn’t get to hear the sound until we’d line tested the drawings! Mine is a little bit off in places, as I haven’t adjusted it to the sound clip since watching it back.

There is also a bit too much eyebrow going on, cos you basically do a drawing for each vowel and consonant shape, then repeat the same drawings when the sound happens again. This meant when sounds happened closer together, the additional ‘acting’ gets a bit intense! It’s all learning tho, innit.

Since finishing the course, I’ve done no animation what so ever, which is rubbish. I’ve had loads of ideas, just not sat down and done it! I gotta sort that out and do something, else I’ll never get any better…

Just realised I hadn’t finished posting all these, so I’ll get on with it…

Starting to do a bit of acting with characters. Brief (as far I can remember, it was a couple of weeks ago and I was tired from working on a computer animated project all week!) was to have a character lose (drop) something and then have to bend down to get it back. That could be just my interpretation however, cos thats what I seem to have done…

Bit more facial acting this time. You have to imagine the guy is whistling away to himself, then there is a massive crash stage left…
